TSC U11Girls are Eurosport Cup Champs!
Our Thoroughbreds U11Girls won an impressive double OT thriller, 1-0, on Saturday in Bowling Green, Kentucky in the finals of the Eurosport Cup.  The team, coached by Joe Wisdom, was in a tight battle with Javanon Red and as both teams were preparing for PK’s the Thoroughbreds broke through and got the golden goal two minutes before time expired.  It was the club’s only championship on the weekend as the U18Boys lost in the Open Cup finals.  The U10Girls/Blue team were also named Eurosport Cup Finalists as they completed their competition two weeks ago in Owensboro.  We are proud of all of the others the teams in the club for their efforts this past season and look forward to great things in 2008/2009!

Thoroughbreds-Trained Player Travels to Spain
Brycen Howard, trained by Thoroughbreds SC, recently returned from a trip to Spain while playing for the United States Region 2 Team.  He also played on the US National Team as a U13 Player.  Brycen played for the Thoroughbreds SC from Under 9 through Under 14 teams, so most of his technical training happened in the Thoroughbreds training system.
Brycen is now a student at the Shattock-St. Mary's Prepatory Academy in Minnosota and plays for that prestegious academy. His two younger brothers, Trent and Mason, play on TSC teams. Congratulation to Brycen.

TSC Symposium 10.JPG
On Wednesday night (2-27), Thoroughbreds SC hosted a night of soccer education for local soccer coaches.  A great crowd was on hand to observe two nationally recognized coaches as they worked with Thoroughbreds SC teams in a training environment.

Coach Mike Dickey, a US Soccer National Staff coach was on hand and did two training sessions and Adrian Parrish, Kentucky’s State Director of Coach and Player Development was also on hand to work with the teams.  Both coaches did a great job of working with the players, as well as educating the coaches on hand in new techniques and ideas for making the local soccer players better.

Thoroughbreds SC plan on making this an annual event and are very grateful to their sponsor, Oldham County YMCA Indoor Sports Arena for helping make the night a huge success!
